The Moroccan automotive market continues to grow. 23,037 new vehicles were sold in May 2026, representing a 2.81% increase compared to the 22,407 units sold during the same period in 2025, according to the latest statistics from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM). In the first five months of the year, sales reached 104,555 units, an increase of 17.8% compared to the 88,728 vehicles recorded between January and May 2025.
Passenger cars (PC) remain the market's primary driver, with 20,270 units sold in May, compared to 20,244 a year earlier. Year-to-date, passenger car sales total 92,153 units, up 17.8% from the 78,245 units recorded by the end of May 2025. They now account for 88.1% of the total market. Light commercial vehicles (LCV), meanwhile, show stronger growth. Monthly sales reached 2,767 units in May, compared to 2,163 in May 2025, an increase of 27.9%. Year-to-date, 12,402 light commercial vehicles (LCVs) were registered—up 18.3% - representing 11.9% of the market.
